Don Graves Joins Podcast at the American Colleges Summit {10 Min}
Quick Overview
I was honored to be featured on Brad Pistole’s podcast, recorded live at the inaugural Retirement Income Summit hosted by the American College of Financial Services. This Horizons Conference episode brought together some of the most influential voices in retirement planning, including: George Nichols III, President of the American College, Dr. Wade Pfau, Dr. Michael Finke, Dr. David Blanchett, Jamie Hopkins and many others
The wide-ranging discussion covered key topics such as the shift from accumulation to decumulation, behavioral and psychological aspects of retirement, and the importance of guaranteed income through annuities and Social Security. The experts also highlighted the urgent need for financial literacy—especially among women—and thoughtful strategies for a secure and fulfilling retirement.
In my 10-minute segment, beginning at 16:44, I shared insights on the evolution of reverse mortgages, how the program has matured, and its critical role as the “fourth bucket” of retirement income—alongside investments, insurance, and income guarantees.
I emphasized how housing wealth can reduce market risk, ease tax burdens, and fund long-term care, giving retirees more flexibility and confidence in their later years.
